Things are better now for anyone who hasn't bought a car yet especially for most young people of today it is one of the joys of a lifetime to find a car of your choice and buy it. Teens tend to purchase an automobile around the age of 17 or 18 which is the best time to star driving, and living out there young lives. The trouble is they never had much expertise in this field because of the lack of understanding the gimmicks behind buying vehicles.
Do your parents teach you about the problems when you go out researching? Of course, but that's not always the case. When young people get older they get wiser and feel that they can do things on their own without fault. Most of the time it's not their fault. What you need to know is that many new and used car dealerships prey on young people who don't know a lot about acquiring an auto.
I have some useful tips for you to use while trying to figure out what kind of car you want to buy. Remember, it's not only young people that are affected by bad decisions when purchasing a vehicle. Older people are victims of this nature also.
1) Proofread
Remember to read fine print in every area of the contract you are signing. Sometimes you may find little things like "After you have purchased the automobile you can not return it under any circumstances", those are the kind of things you want to avoid before you put your signature on a contract. Have someone reread the contract which is a good way to see if you've missed anything. Then your friend or whoever is with you brings it to your attention.
There are numerous reports that are going around about fraud, and scandulous deals that can affect you tremendously when trying to apply for cars. In my opinion you shouldn't have to sign over ten different papers when you are financing for a car. If this is the case you need to read very carefully and proofread them very close.
Go over all the bold phrases on the contract because those are some of the things you need to look at questionably closely at all times! Even if you are not a professional act as one and do not feel dominated by the one who is trying to appoint you to a car.
2) Ask questions
This is what some car dealership companies fear the most. You get a lot of respect by looking the dealer in his eyes, but if he's not looking at you straight then that could mean there is a problem. A person who looks at you straight is more likely telling you the truth as business news reports and psycholigist have come up with headlines about psychological warfare mixing between the consumers and seller.
Which is determined as a major factor in most people's lives, and plays a dramatic role in getting what you can as an consumer of any kind of corporate business. Decisions on automobiles are determined on aspects of trust from the consumer. There are tons of ways to pick up wrong vibes from dealer, such as, rushing, word stumbling, or even if they are talking too fast. You can use your very own abilities to know if you're making a perfect decision or bad one when dealing with a dealership.
Do this by asking personal questions about the auto purchase they are trying to sell you. Track all users of the vehicle by asking about the last owners and how well the car was kept in shape. Ask for health reports on the automobile. Using this method can save you financial troubles that could haunt you in the future by using our abilities we can fight against fraud or scams anytime we enter an auto dealership.
5) Never go to a dealer alone
Bring a friend with you that has already dealt with the drudgery of buying cars. The inexperienced easily fall for a deal that sounds to good to be true which is a problem on a daily basis. So the best way to aid this matter is have a friend recommend you to a place to apply for a car that won't cheat you, but if you already have a place you want to go then bring a brainy friend with you.
With an experienced friend by your side they can help you on the car dealer contract, meanings of different terms, proofreading the contract, miles on car and if its worth the price. Another way to do this is have your parents with you every step of the way which will distinguish any complications with your parents around while making an automobile decision. More likely your parents will help you firmly through the whole process of making an auto purchase.
4) Is your car financed?
We are all very aware that we need to have our cars financed before we even think of leaving the car lot. Sometimes the dealership you buy a car from will finance the car themselves or seek out for different financial companies to do business with you. Once you are qualified or approved through that company the interest rates will be determined by your credit.
They could run you 8% -9% percent if your credit is not half bad then they'll make payment arrangements for your car, but there are some red flags ahead of you. What you don't know is many cars around the world are not even financed. Then where is my money going to when its deducted out of the bank? You won't believe this, but it goes directly in the pockets of the car dealership. You have to understand that car dealerships have what you call sub-companies.
What happen is they imprint a real company's logo on paper and copy words that you would find on a financial lending company's policy direct. This will be a unique way for them to retrieve or obtain any important information from you, such as, your bank account numbers, home address, phone number or even your social security number that looks legit. Once you have signed the papers then they are automatically approved which means double profits for the car dealership.
What are the casualties? After you have made your last car payments after 3-5 years it will look like you never made a payment at all. Even though that could be rare in many cases I would suggest you take that in consideration at all times. You may still have your car after payments are done, but you still would rather know where your hard earned money is going.
Always call the company that has financed your car before you leave the lot or make a personal visit to the company itself. Stay in the middle of all your transactions of your vehicles including paperwork that has been sent and signed.
Making a auto purchase can be a wonderful experience if its done the right way. The best way to avoid disappointment is to proofread all prints on the contract before signing, know where your money is going, ask tons of questions on the automobiles, bring a friend or family member to help you on your new car purchase and make sure the car is financed properly through a legitimate company at all means.
Use these methods and keep them close then you should be fine when you are ready to buy a car.
