When one first stumbles into the site known as YCEWOGCG.ORG the first impression one might get is "nice little site". Upon further exploration, other than one inocuos "donate here" button on the front page, what strikes one as they explore is the fact that there are ads on the page. Christian ads, but ads none the less. The first question that comes to mind is this. Is it ethical for a christian Ministry to Advertise? This is the quandry that we find ourselves in here. Is it pride that prevents the Ministry from asking for Donations? Actually it is just the opposite. How can we ask for donations to accomplish our plans? Oh yes, we have great plans, or rather the Lord has given us great plans. But the question we had to ask ourselves, was wether or not an unknown ministry could expect people to blindly give hard earned cash to us. Our answer was a simple "No". We have nothing but the site to offer as proof of our legitamacy. Other than bible scripture that compells us to do what we do, we have no presense of character aside from the site to offer people. So it was determined that if we could become a self supported site, and thus a self supported ministry by offering ad revenue on the site, shouldn't we do it this way? Do we accept donations? Sure, but until we gain our 5013c status, and can afford to file it, ad revenue was our best option. Is it ethical? We strive maintain as much ethics as possible in the ads we utilize. We strive to filter any ads that are not Christian Related. Is it Biblical? If by Biblical you mean are we striving to fulfill the Lords Great Commision to all Christians, yes. Is it Biblical to earn money by advertising? Churches have advertised for years, churches have relied on corporates sponsors and donations throughout time. If the revenue created by this advertising is spent on and for the Ministry, I dont believe it could be anything but BIBLICAL AND ETHICAL.
